Tranny Problem
My father has a '97 Ford F-250 7.3L. He seems to be having some tranny problems that the dealership cannot find the cause of. When the truck is cold it shifts from 1st to 2nd fine. After about 5 mins, after it warms up, it's having problems shifting into 2nd gear. Then again after it's been running awhile it begins to shift normal again. It began as an intermittent problem, but has now turned into a constant problem. He just had the transmission fluids changed about 6 mos ago, and the dealership ran it thru the computers but came up empty and told him that the sensors were fine and unless the "idiot light" came on, not to worry about it. He's afraid of blowing the tranny by continuing to ignore the problem. Any suggestions???

Take it to a transmission shop. Most dealerships won't bother rebulding or repairing an automatic transmission anymore, they will just sell you a rebuild. By driving it until it expires, you're pretty much locked into their game.
Find a reputable transmission shop (please don't go to Aamco) and have it looked at.
