heres the situation: (96 bronco 351) driving back to school on the highway going about 70 then forward momentum stops, the cars coasting. I stop check the tranny oil its bubbly i just had an exchange a few months ago and it has been running buetiful. when i try to put it park it grinds the gears and wont go in. So i got it towed down to school, yesterday (it happened monday night) i was going to push it into my parking lot so it doesnt get towed by the school and i start it up and it moved barely but i had forward momentum so i have no clue what is wrong i really dont think it is the tranny but u never know please help im in school and cant afford to get ripped off by a shop.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Sep-02 AT 02:37 PM (EST)]From my recent experience with my Transmission, too much transmission fluid results in a bubbly froth which will cause damage to your transmission. You need to drain any excess transmission fluid. However, its sounds like damage might have already been done if you are grinding gears. I would take it into a shop to get the transmission diagnosed soon. Hope this helps.

That has just happened to me. It turned out to be my rear axle. Try putting the truck in 4X4. If it moves, it's the gears in your rear axle. You can get a used axle installed for around $800.00
Hope this helps. Let me now if I am right!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!
