Starting Rattle/Knocking
I have an '06 XLT 5.4 4X4 automatic all stock with 4,200 miles on it. I have noticed a few times now that when I go to start the beast after I have it warmed up and driven a few miles that it will start with a low rattle or knocking sound. It seems to be after I run it to normal operating temperature, and then shut it down for around 5 minutes. After the short period of rest time, it does it. One time it did stalled rightaway after that noise.
The noise is a combination of a rattle and knocking sound if that makes sense. Sounds liek an old Jeep of mine when the oil pump was not functioning right away.
Anyone else notice this, and any thoughts?
