I ordered my Accufab from RPM. I first called them regards the price increase and their "free shipping". They said yes, free shipping but a 9.95 handling charge. When I got the Accufab and the invoice they had added a 2.00 UPS surcharge for residence delivery which they never before mentioned.
I emailed them that I had not agreed to the 2.00 and that their quote did not include the 2.00. I told them that this really pissed me off and I wanted a 2.00 credit or never buy there again.
Well, they have not responded. So I'll never buy there again! Its not the 2.00, it's their lack of integrity and customer satisfaction and business ethics.
As another poster said, "They were the worst people I have ever dealt with in any business in my entire life, and I'm not exaggerating at all." and "their customer service was absolutely **** poor".
For what it's worth, that nice smooth inside of the intakelbow is nice but it really doesn't gain you a whole lot given the fact that the rest of the intake is unpolished cast aluminum with carbon buildup. While the accufab elbow isn't quite as smooth as the intakelbow, it's still fairly smooth.
You can check out accufabracing's web site and order by calling them directly. My experience with them was very pleasant.
However, the decision is yours. Both the accufab and intakelbow are good products. You can't go wrong with either one.
the one from intakeelbows is the same one that is sold at puredieselpower. the mandrel pipe bent. i won't get the accufab one, it's more money and i'd rather steer from the cast.
one more thing, i noticed that the picture on that intakeelbows site shows the pipe coming into the elbow being alum/metal. the one on my 2006 is black plastic up until you reach that factory elbow. what year did they switch from metal to plastic? the other intercooler pipe is all metal with blue flex couplers in certain areas.
Dag, I think the metal cold air CAC got installed on trucks that blew their plastic cold air CACs. I think it is a TSB but only gets installed when a problem arises with the plastic tube. My 06 has the same black plastic/OBS cold air CAC.

You've got it
The larger radius of the elbow is the objective; not the smoothness of the interior of the pipe. If you want ANY benefit from smoothness, you would need to rip off the heads and intake manifold and send them off to be extrude-honed. Not to mention, the theory that smooth flow surfaces produce MORE flow is a misconception- it is true in some scenarios, and false in others.
What do you guys think on the '03 model. Go with the shorter (in height) elbow and keep the throttle plate spacer below or is there an advantage with the 05-07 version. If I remove the egr/throttle plate but leave the housing, will the combination of the elbow with this flow as good as the 05-07?

IMO- forget the 03/04 style and go with the later model. The throttle plate is of no use, and you will get a longer radius bend in the elbow without it present. I really cannot see any possible gains to be made in the 03/04 elbow without changing a good deal of geometry on it.
