no power

Hey guys my 97 f350 will barly make it out of the driveway when it is cold. I can have the pedal to the metal and it is lucky to reach 10 mph. Only happens if i do not plug it up or let it sit and warm up. Any ideas?

Hey welcome to FTE

The truck is fine when it warms up? Does it run rough or smoke? Any hissing sound from the turbo?

Hey foremanes, truck is fine when warm and only smoke when it has been sitting for a week or so. Will have to listen for turbo but have not noticed it.

Check out some of the posts on EBPV (exhaust back pressure valve). That's one possible sourse that should be pretty easy to check and rule out.

amitchell when it is cold before you start it underneath your air intake just before your turbo you will find a wire plug there are wires running under your air intake behind your engine. Unplug this harness and see if the proble persists, if so you have an exhaust back pressure valve problem. I leave mine disconnected. Whatever the resolution is remember to post the answer so that others will know if it worked.

Before I removed my stock airbox I just unplugged the sensor that is on the stock airbox (only one attached to it) That should do it for you.
