Swap a Motor?
Ok, heres what I need to know, my truck is a '79 f-100 custom with a 300 inline 6, I lost some rings, so I am thinking of rebuilding the motor, then a friend told me he has a 400 v-8 that is in real good shape and he will sell it to me for $200, now will the 400 bolt up to the tranny (3 speed auto with revirse(C 4 I think)

Remember, just because a transmission will "bolt up" does not mean it is configured correctly internally (shift points and load capacity) for your engine of choice. Transmissions must be matched to the engine or strange operation and quick burn up will occur.
