Canadian Newbie
I wanted to change to a 3.3L I6 for a long time to take advantage of the fuel economy, without losing too much HP. I started in November, but Mother Nature got too cold (don't have a garage) and now (February) too snowy. Well, I had to use the K-Member for the six, but kept the V-8 k-member because a V-4 bolts right in. While the six will give us good service, I plan on getting one of the small V-4 Ford Ranger diesels and rebuilding/ tweaking it, unless I can get an efficient V-6 diesel. Then I can make my own ethanol mix and add newer emissions tech to clean it up even more. I love this car's serviceability, and figure it would cost too much to help the 1st generation hybrid vendors to cut their teeth at my expense. So I'll DIY, myself!
Interesting project you have. We have a couple of forums that deal with what you are working with. These might interest you: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum146/

A couple of my pals own a couple of Ford fleets (older trucks) and they've been asking me where to find good Ford Truck info. All I had was the FordSiz.com site, until now...
