I dont believe you have an I beam at all if you are talking axle up front, you have a solid front axle. I read you profile, and your truck listed is an f-250, so you should have a solide front axle on it.
No I-beam on a 4wd vehicle. Those are found on 2wd vehicles (f-250's included, same as I have on my 2wd Excursion 7.3). You'll have a solid front axle on yours with leaf springs vs the coil springs found on 2wd.
If you look around your front tires while they are turned and can see a large spring, then you have a 2wd vehicle and then fall into a different catagory on front suspension (aka: you would then in fact have I-beams). Another, easier way to tell, would simply be on the dash, if you have a selector for 4wd lo 4wd hi, then obviously it's a 4wd. Hope this helps to clarify.
