OBDII for computers

Does antone have a OBDII reader for a computer? If so how good is it and how is it compared to a normal reader?

My SCT XCal2 tuner will read the PCM, but will only tell you the number code, not what the code means. Works great for me.

I guess I am a little confused by the difference in an OBDII reader and a 'normal' reader are.

gotta advertise for the scangauge. it's wonderful. tell you the codes and a TON more of live stats. if you're going to spend the $$ on a code reader, you might as well get on that tells you even more

AutoEnginuity also comes very highly recommended (if you have a laptop you can use it with).

Gotcha...

As F250 Newbie mentioned, Auto Enginuity has a setup you might want to look at. I too have heard positive reviews on it.

I'm not sure what you are looking for, but the XCal2 tuner will do the same. You can hok it up to the vehicle and hook a laptop to it. SCT provides a program with the tuner. You are not able to program the tuner itself, but could take the data and have a progam written off of it.

I've lost the link I had to another one that comes highly recommended. You might want to check the Computer Chip and Tuner forum also. I believe there are a few threads in there regarding the programs.
