Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with TCI transmissions? I have a full size 90 Bronco with an AOD transmission and I'll be needing a replacement / rebuild soon. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I have a TCI C6 behind my 460. It seems good. It shifts very hard. It really bangs the grears, but I like it. I hate the torque converter however. I was talked into the Saturday night special. The stall is too high. I have to realy gun it to get my 8,000 Lb race car trailer up my steep driveway. One of these days I'll get the ambition to swap the converter.
It's not real high, probably 2,000 or so, but it's too high. It just feels like it's slipping all of the time driving around town. It's fine up on the highway. I have 4.10 gears so I'm running 3,000 rpm no problems there. Just city driving and climbing hills with that big trailer behind it.
