I took the truck in for service @ 38,780 for an oil change and tire rotation .I told the service dept about a strange noise in the transmission, He said to flush and change the transmission fluid cost 180.00.
Two weeks later while driving on the highway it goes into fault mode and starts slipping, The service tech said the transmission is shot.
Does anyone know of an aftermarket HD transmission for the F 150 ? After reading the other posts I am hesitant of another ford trans or rebuilt.
I have a 2006 Xlt screw with 8500 miles on it and the trans on it let loose last week. They don't know what happened, but will be replaced under warrenty. I am curious as to what you find as a replacement....
I had my trans go out on my 04 at 9500 mi. Was rebuilt and now have 36000 miles and it is running fine. (Hope I didn't jinx myself. I do have the extended warranty though.)
The Service dept. at my local Ford dealer talked to the field rep. and said they agreed to pay for $1500.00 of the new tranmission and my portion would be $ 646.00.
From what I've red on other posts, I was getting ready to shell out $2500.00-$3500.00. Today is a good day!
