Whats up all, I've got a leaky power steering pump on my 86 4x2 f150 4.9L I-6. Im going to replace it and I've read alot of good things about the Saginaw model that came equipped in the 80's model vans. Does anyone know where I can order one online? I've looked at several parts sites and all I see listed is Cardone and some other brand. No Saginaw. Thanks.
All the E-Vans used Saginaw P/S pumps from 1980 thru 1989 (and later). There are three different pumps used in the 1980's. One for 1980/81, another for 1982/89, and a third for diesels. Finding a used one should be easy, a new one is prolly available from Ford, but it'll be expensive. Where to find one in the aftermarket sector is unknown to me, but I'd bet NAPA sells one.
Note: The brackets, however are different between E-Vans and the F Series. It'll be trial and error to find the right ones that'll work, if at all. There are at least 10 combinations for the E-Vans alone...something to consider.

Since Im driving an 86, I'm going to go out on a limb and order the pump and brackets from an 86 van with the same I-6 engine. Hopefully Im not being overly optimistic in expecting it to fit on the first try.
