Ratio Change

I own a '02 350 Pwr. St. I am considering changing my tire size from 265/75/16 to 285/75/16. What changes do I need to make in order to keep my 3.73 rear end ratio? Additionally, I am considering BFG AT's, Toyo M-55's, or Toyo AT's (in E range only). I pull a 7,000 lb gooseneck (unloaded). Does anyone have any experince with these tires?

Thanks in advance

I run 305's and have no issues with gearing and I dont think you will either with 285's. I have BFG AT's on now and I hate them but mostly because the tire dealer put c rated tires on my rig and I didnt realize it till a year later when I tried to put a 4000k camper on it and I coulnt air up the tires enough. I have new Toyo AT's E rated now waiting to go on this spring for towing season.

Thanks. What have you heaerd about the Toyo AT's, good tread life, traction, etc.? Would I need a leveling kit or lift kit to install 285's?

I don't buy anything till I read ans read about it. I hear they are great and I bought them however I havent tried them yet. I dont have a leveling kit and I run the 305 70 r 16 without rubbing with stock rims. Not sure about the 285's. My tires are suppose to be 33x12.50.

i am running nitto 285's and i love them. i dont have a lift and they are mounted on stock wheels. check my gallery for pics. i have 11,000 miles on them and they show almost no wear. i have always been a BFG man but i got these tires for a really good price and i would run them again.

I used to have 285 BFGs and they fit fine on a stock truck. You might get a little chafe in the wheel well depending on how you drive (and where) but basically non issue. I got 40K out of them but I'm hard on them. A good chunk of that was toting a 12K trailer.
