Disc Brakes

I know the disc brake changr overr has probably been beat to death, but, I just tried to finish mine up and ran into a problem. When I tried to bleed the system I started with the rear brake furthest from the master cylinder and could not get an fluid from the wheel cylinder. I bled the front Ok but can't get any fluid to the rear at all. I checked all my lines and all appear OK also. I checked one of my manuals and found something about centering the propotioning valve. I followed their instructions with no luck. Anybody ever had this problem and figured it out? Sure could use some help.

As strange as this sounds try blowing air through the lines to the wheel cylinder after the proportioning valve. Not a full 140 psi but 10-15 psi and see if you have air coming out of the bleed valve. If you have air coming out, there isn't anything blocking the lines. Next have someone press the brake peddle while you carefully crack the line on the prop valve. Make sure you have goggles on and a rag around the line to catch any fluid. It's kind of like bleeding the master cylinder again but checking to see if fluid is even being pushed. You may still have a stuborn air bubble that doesn't want to let go on the rear port or part of a shipping plug is stuck inside the prop valve. If that doesn't work it may be a defective prop valve.
