Heater cord...

Hey Guys,

The weather has finally gotten nice enough yesterday to get under the front of the 03 F250 6.0 that I bought two weeks ago.

I'm looking for the heater cord and I have yet to find it. My build sheet says the immersion heater was installed and the previous owner says the cord is right where the owners manual says it should be...but I haven't found it yet.

I've looked (from the bottom up) around the bumper on the passenger side. I see two harnesses running around the fog light area. One obviously runs to the fog light and the other seems to run up towards the radiator area. The towing eyes are right where I need to be looking but my x-ray vision glasses are still down for parts.

Any guidance or wisdom out there?

I have a 7.3, so I don't know how applicable this is, but I found mine at the engine block first, and then traced it out to where it sits behind the bumper.

At the block, it was a cord that came out near the oil filter, and immediately went into some of that black plastic corrugated duct material.

Hopefully one of the 6.0 guys can clarify it for you.

Try this link:

I found it in the 6.0 Forum at the top in the TECH FOLDER.
It may help you find the cord, you can trace it from the block heater itself.
The block heater is on the right side of the engine by the starter. You might be able to see it from the wheel well.

Good Luck

It should be zip tied up under the passenger side tow hook. Start there first, it does have cover over the end of it so you cannot see the female plug end.

FOUND IT! Thanks mrxlh. It never occured to me that there'd be a cover over the plug.

Thanks the suggestions guys!
