The headers have the 3 inch collectors. The header mufflers will bolt right up to them. I guess what I'm asking is there any need for a little bit of back pressure?
My build is 390, bored 30 over, fairly mild comp cam, stock pistons,performer rpm intake, hyd lifters,headers, and a 600 holley, in a 1976 F 250.
Well depending on the Maker of the Mufflers..they may have a lower rate of Flow than some of the Hooker max's , Dyna flows,Borla's etc..
Now the Hooker Max's flow the same as 2 1/2 " striaght pipe? I forget of hand what the CFM is..I use to know..LOL..But old age you know.. If your motor is making enough Tq for you..then a free flowing muffler wont hurt at all..You'll get a little more top end from it..JMO
