Hey guys, i have a driveline clunk in my 1999 F-250 V-10 auto. It clunks when I go from park ot reverse, or drive, and from drive to reverse or vice versa. I have inspected all U-joints and they look fine. Ive looked under the truck while my wife shifted between drive and reverse and could not see any excess driveshaft rotation while shifting between the two. Is sounds like it is coming from the tranfer case. Is it possible for the transfer case to make this noise internally? It is loud enough to be easily audible in the cab. Thanks!
This is the 4r100(e4od) doing it's thing.... mine has made that sound since.. well, since new. Check fluids, but honestly I think it just does that shifting into reverse or from it... and as long as there's no abnormalities when shifting up through the forward gears I think you'll be ok

It shifts just fine up through the gears as i accelerate, but makes the clunk as I am loading the driveline in a way that it is not currently in, i.e. D to R or P to D or P to R ro R to D. I find it wierd for such a loud clunk to be normal, but I am no expert.
