Tire Size Help

On my F250 V10 4x4, I currently run 255 85 16 tires. I bought my truck with these tires already on it.. Im not to happy with the appearance and performance of the tires. The tires appear narrow and dont have alot of traction.

Im looking to purchase a complete set of offroad/mud tires for my truck and wanted to know what the max. tire size I can go without rubbing the wheel wells..etc. My F250 has a 2 inch lift on it.

Also, I measured my tire from the ground up and it showed it was 33in.. does that sound right?

Any help is appreiciated.
Thanks

Im not looking to down grade in tire size. If anything, I rather go bigger. Theres alot of room now with 33in tires left in the wheel well. I was thinking maybe 35s but not sure on the widths. Dont want my tire to rub.

In doing the math for the size of your tire the height is 33 inches.

To calculate the height of the tire using the tire size convert the width (in your case the 255 mm width to inches = 10.04 inches)

...then use: 2 (0.85)(10.04) + 16 = 33 inches (actually 33.068 inches)

For tires that are sized for example as: 31/10.5/15 ...the 31 is the overall height in inches.
