Oilpan

I have a 99 offroad 5.4. There is a puncture indentation hole size of a dime. J-B weld did not hold. need to replace it. One mechanic said the engine had to be pulled. Another said not. Any help on procedure would be greatly appreciated. thanks

JB Weld should hold it if you clean it up good and apply a mild heat source to it while it sets. I would think you could bronze a patch on it if funds are tight.

The oil pan can be replaced without pulling the engine.
You have to remove the front axle housing and it's support crossmember and then the pan comes out pretty easily.
