Gutted the cat

I gutted the second cat on my 90 Bronco and what a difference! Sounds so much better now. I am going to weld a pipe through the middle of the cat, cause I think that it would make it sound even better. Has anyone else done this to their Bronco? This is only a temporary thing, I plan on keeping it legal by puting on a high-flow cat in place of the one I gutted. I just had to do it to see what it sounded like. I think I will keep it this way for a while though, don't have to pass emissions for another 2 years.

I don't know where you are at, but in Tx, all you need is one cat. The laws states that all of the exhaust must pass through a cat. It doesn't matter how many you have.

Gutted the cat

Met a '79 owner today who had a hig perf. cat under his that looked like a small county in TX. The thing was HUGE but hew said it flowed better than any other cat he ever had on it. I didn't catch the name of the supplier or manufacturer but I got his number. I'll ask him about it.
