Any body know were i can get some oem ford flares that will fit my 2006 f-250 other than the dealer? I am looking for the ones like on the king ranch or harley davidson models. Thanks Danny
I have an 06 King Ranch and will tell you that they do have a shortcoming. I live off a dirt/gravel road (read MUD/gravel in wet times) and I cannot tell you how easily the front wheel flares allow mud to cake upon the running boards and along the side of the truck. Yes the flares look pretty, but I'm currently shopping for some type of wider flare that extends lower to prevent the dreaded running board mudbath.
I'm going to order a set from www.ajvans.com They have a package that ford uses that is called the "Thunder" package. They have them for an F-150 and for superdutys.Just go into the galleries to see pics of them,They have 2 superdutys with the flares on them. You just call and tell them you want to order the flares only.I was told the cost of them were $419.00 and then they will paint them for oveously more money or you can have a local bodyshop paint them for you.
i am looking for a good set too. i don't have oversized tires on yet.
even with the husky mud flaps on, i get crap all over the running boards. i think think the running board from the factory looks best, but the full length running board on my 97, diamond plate, keeps a lot of mud off the doors of that truck. i want to extend with some stiff rubber, the husky flaps so that i get less stuff thrown up at the front of the drivers doors. that is a horrible design by ford, too many spaces up under where the door is to get crap caught up. and hard to clean.
