Mine varries from 10 to 14 mpg on E-10 ethanol blended fuel. Mostly 12 mpg, but it will drop with pulling wagons, and will go up on a conservative drive while empty. Also, tires and gear ratio I think, makes a difference, and keeping the R's below 1900 helps, but face it, if you buy it you must have a use for it's heavy duty hauling abilities. It takes fuel to make HP to pull those heavy loads at a good speed down the road. As someone said before aerodynamically, it is a 7500 lb brick going down the road, so, it just takes fuel and HP to do the job, and do it well.
I wouldn't buy anything else for my all around use. But a car it is not! I also have a Crown Vic which gets twice the mileage and rides like you were on a cloud.
I have 4.30's in my 99 4x4 and get 12-15 empty every time (I live 10 miles from town so its 50/50 city highway) But I got as high as 16 once in a while.
I get 9-12 pulling my 26 foot trailer or car hauler.
My Touareg beats it for mileage with about 15, but when you factor in the cost of premium fuel (Touareg) vs. regular, the Super Duty is actually cheaper to run.
On occasion I get 942 mpg. Of course that is when I turn the truck off going down a steep hill and have an 80 mph tail wind. Other than that, I get 11 mpg consistently with 35's and a 5" lift
My average is about 10.2 unloaded. Almost all city streets and roads that used to be highways, but are now little more than congested feeders to Walmart. For me there is no such thing as highway driving, around here...and that is pretty much the only place I drive the truck.
For the heck of I was headed up to Ocala the other day and decided I was taking the truck instead of the car. I took back highways and roads to Belleview, then got back on 441. For the trip I averaged 13.37. Nice to see I could still get a decent number on roads that are not completely stop and go. I don't beat the crap out of it from every stop, but I don't drive like there is an egg under the gas pedal either.
So the big question, rather than what mileage everyone else is getting, is what kind of driving do you have to deal with?

I do about 50/50 now, On my way to work it is all freeway, otherwise it is city streets, i was getting around 11-12 MGP. Thats with really crappy traffic here in Vegas.
It's a work truck and not a gas saving car. I average 8-10 with mine. Drive them easy and mileage will be better but with a V-10 under your foot it is kinda hard to do.
