OK, some of you know that I rolled my Bronco back in June and it has been in storage ever since. Well now the storage contract needs to be renewed and I am not sure what I should do with her. Here are some pics of the damage:
I should be able to get the sheet metal for under $1000 form a junk yard up in spokane. However the engine is toast. I know that the #8 push rod has an shaped bend and has scraped the cylinder wall. (#8 was all I could see out in the driveway) So if this was your rig what would you do?
thats not to bad, get the pass window replaced and turn the thing into a wheeler. locate a wrecking yard motor and swap that in and away you go. the structural of the cab looks good still. if you check out my superford page my A and B pillars are damaged and the doors dont shut etc...
I think it all depends on if you have the time and money. Like Kem said, it doesn't look too bad. If you don't repair it, I'm sure there is someone out there that would.
Good luck and I hope it all works out for ya.
Well if money is issue . It looks like solid truck . I'd put a roof skin on it.windshield, pass door, tail light put motor in it and drive till have funds to fix. Everything still lines up nice. It was light roll. Find a donor truck or use yours, You wont get anything out of it way it sit I dont know market up there but down here I can get a 2000 truck for price they want and are getting for Old Bronco in good condition. good luck
If you don't you'll regret it later in life. Do you wanna be the grandfather whos talks about what he had or the one who puts the grandkids in and does donuts in the driveway?
Depends on the following:
1) How close to stock do you want to get it? Are we talking trail-hog or daily driver...
2) What kind funds do you have to play with?
3) Do you have the skills to do most of the repairs and save yourself some Benjamins?
First thing I would do is change the engine: The engine can easily be replaced, just takes time and mechanical skill = Cost $400-$1000
Second -Front fenders ($70/side), hood ($???) and doors ($140/side) are pretty reasonable new, maybe cheaper if used and not rusted.
Third - roof would be more difficult (In my opinion) to fix...would require a professional..at least for me.
Forth - then comes the painting...if someone else does it $2000-$3000 along with minor repairs. Alot sheaper if you do it!
FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT!!!! ag30265 is so right. I sold my 79 bronco, even though there was nothing wrong with it, and I miss it so bad!!! it was twice the truck of my 86, IMOI of course, if you sell it or scrap it, in 6 months you'll be wanting it back. get it drivable and slowly work on the body as funds become available. remember, you can't just go to the dealership and get one since they don't make them anymore. KEEP IT AND FIX IT- just my .02--Rich
btw, cool truck cje07
cje07, when do you think it'll be completed? can't wait to see it!! I live in dallas, tx so i don't have any rust on my truck except in dings which are no big deal, but is that durabak a good sound insulator? my truck is the base model bronco with just a rubber mat on the floor area, so it's not well insulated

I hope to be done before Summer. I really could have used the truck in the last few days given all of the snow we have had. From the many that have sprayed bedliner (Rhino, Durabak, ETC) they say tht it is a good insulator because of the rubber properties.
