Possibly stupid question

Would any one do the Zoodad mod if you were plowing commercially? That is what my truck does mostly other than that it's a daily driver.

That mod is worthless, don't do it. Get a intake elbow if you want to notice smoother idle and acceleration.

What do you mean when you say "intake elbow"? Somehing that is before the filter, or one of those very, very expensive Banks things? Pics, Links.

I did the Zoodad mod and it wasn't for me. I ended up blockin it back up as soon as the first rain hit. I live in Seattle and we get alot of rain. It allowed water inside the intake and soaked the front part of my filter. I even had a screen over it to help keep out water/debrit out.

You will not notice any difference with the Zoodad mod, other than a wet/dirty filter. If you are looking for a smoother idle, less turbo lag, and better acceleration I would get an Intake Elbow. I put one on about a month ago from Intakeelbows.com and it's great!

There is an article in Diesel Power magazine that indicates a 9hp increase on the Dyno.
