'07 E150 GVWR is 8500lbs and comes with 8lug 225x16 tires. So the 150 is now exactly the same as a 250.
The E250 is 9000lbs GVWR and the E350 is 9500lbs. The only difference between the 250 and the 350 is you can't get 4.10's in the 250 with the 5.4.
I think the only difference is the weight rating sticker on the door jamb and the $1000 in price.

All I've got to say is it's about time. We've used all of our 1/2 ton vans for things you'd think twice about doing with a 1 ton and never broke any of them. It's nice to see that they're finally upping it to where it should be. It sounds like Ford wants to discontinue the 1/2 ton van line so they're re-badging the E250. GM did this with the recent 1500 crew cab, they took a 2500 series extended chassis and put a long bed and a full four door cab on it. It was labeled as a 1500.

Did FORD change specs since their '07 E-Series catalog was printed? It lists E-150 GVWR as 8520-8600 & 3335 payload vs. E-250 GVWR as 8900-9000 & 3760 payload. Yes, I know its not much difference, however these specs are mostly due to the tires. I think FORD dropped the 15" tires for Econoline in '04 & have only offered 16" since then.

FORD has not listed the E-250 as a "Wagon" for a few years, only as a "Van".

The E-150 & E-250 may be more similar than ever, but aren't "exactly the same" yet. Can anyone confirm the brakes & springs are exactly the same in the 150 & 250? I suspect softer springs for the 150 passenger models & perhaps just different compound brake pads. The way US auto makers have been hemmoraging it makes good sense to reduce the variety, especially in these lower volume models.

Given the payload and GVW numbers I'm willing to bet they are the same.
