97 Ball Joint Question

97 Ball Joint Question

On My 97 4.0 X-cab 4x4 I Need Ball Joints On 1 Side. I Went To Advanced Autos Site And It Is Telling Me That The Dana 28 And The 35 Are Different Joints....ok But On My Ranger The Uppers Are Pinch Bolt The Lowers Threaded. So I Believe That I Need The 35 Joints But The Site Is Telling Me That They Are Both Either Pinch Bolts Or Threaded So What Gives? Can You Change Pinch Bolts To Threads Or Vise Versa? Has Anyone Ever Had This Problem? As Always I Appreciate Any And All Advice.

Some of the 2.3 and 3.0 trucks had a Dana 28/35 Hybrid, but with the 4.0 you should have a full Dana 35.

I dunno if that helps, but maybe someone else can help with your specific problem.
