I have Bosch platinums in mine, so far so good ! (16 months, 23,000 kms ).
I think if I had been on this Forum when I changed them, I would have put Motorcrafts in though. The originals went 238,000 kms! I did have a bit of a misfire in adverse conditions after 220,000 kms, but not enough to damage the catalyst. What put me off was getting to the plug through the inspection door, but in the end I found the secret position which enabled me to get in at the correct angle & thread the thing in without crossthreads ( lying on my back across the seats & basically FEELING it into the plug hole!). It took me almost a whole day to do the entire job; but rather that than pay $600 for the Ford service.

I have the Bosch plats in mine too. My Aero pings bad in the summer on regular and my idle isn't as smooth as it could be all year. I'm hoping the new Autolites and wires help. I've tried everything else.
Thats why one of the reasons the Bosch plugs don't work. They get way to hot. They don't last long either, they melt down. When we switched to the Autolites and used the proper wires, all problems with the ignition system vanished.
the double plat APP765 Autolites for the 4L OHV may be discontinued by A.L., I'm getting conflicting info on their APP line standard core w plat welded on tip and bent steel ground side electrode w plat welded on tip.
may be replaced by their Iridium fine wire series so they will only have one line of long life protected firing tip and ground elctrode plugs
buy 'em while you can get'em, 1/3 the price of the Iridium fine wire tips
