one of my transmission lines is leaking (see picture) it is the line where the driveline meets the transmission I am not sure what kind of line it is but I have tryed tightening it but it still leaks, it is a 68 f-250 with c6 transmission
Speedo cable. You need to get a new rubber oring and put it in. You should be able to find a package of orings of various sizes at your local parts store. Just put in the correct size and it should seal up your leak.
It shouldn't leak. I don't remember what it's like down there but I replaced my cable and I'd remember if it poured all over my head. I also have the C6. That thing should screw right off and then right on again.
if I take that off is tons of transmission fluid going to come out?
I don't think it will. I have a c4 in mine and when I put in a new cable and gear it just dribbled a little bit from where it was on the gear when I pulled it out. Search on the tranmission section which is located down on the forums list. You should be able to find more answers there. Hope this helps you.
