Door chime help please?
I have a 2005 F350 lariat with an issue. The door chime that rings when you open the door with the key in the ignition, dings even if you remove the key. Any suggestions? It's not the "lights on" alarm, its the "door open, key left in the ignition" alarm. If you wigle the lock cylinder after the keys are removed someitmes it quits, loose wire???

Yes, I'm guessing you have a loose wire, or the insulation has worn off and it's grounding itself. Take the three phillips screws out of the bottom of the steering column and unscrew the tilt lever and remove it if you have one. You should then be able to pull the lower plastic off. Look for the black wire with a pink tracer that goes to the ignition module. This is the wire that sets the dinger off. I just unplugged mine from the ignition and covered the end with electrical tape over the weekend to shut the dinger off. Good luck.
