I was reading around the boards, and have seen quite a bit mention the egr bypass for a bit of a power boost. I already did the TB coolant bypass, and would like to know how to do this one as well. Please explain it as 'nice' as possible, Because i know next to nothing still when it comes to this truck thing.
The EGR valve is located on the side of upper intake manifold near the throttle body. You will see a rust colored pipe, maybe wrapped in a cloth like heat shield, coming from the bottom. Depending on the engine configuration, this pipe either runs to the passenger side exhaust manifold, or to the back under the intake somewhere.
You remove this rust colored pipe and plug or cap off each end, and you're done. My pipe was broken anyway, so I figured it was worth the try. Now several people have done it, and so far all are satisfied as far as I can tell.
Oh, another option is to unbolt the EGR valve from the intake (2 bolts), insert a solid spacer with a gasket on either side, and reinstall it back onto the intake. Effectively the same results, and may be easier in some cases.
