I am trying to backtrack the guys that have the gallery labeled:
1962 Ford F100 4x2 - Crown Vic's K to 62 ch
I have tried to do a members search on the listed information in the gallery but came up dry. I haven't found a way to search via a member's actual name.
fishbait, you were so close to the answer. Larry and Mike Casson from Roberts Wi. their names were listed in the gallery. You can go to the members list on top of the forum list page and search for them by city and state... and whoolah! you find that their handle is '62 red truck' from there you can send them an email. Forgive my lengthy response, but I figure that you would benefit from knowing how I found it more than by just giving you the handle. good luck
Thanks Carras,
I actually did exactly what you described. However when I punched in their city and state I came up with zippo. Maybe this thing is like adjusting a Holley, "you just gotta hold your mouth right."
Again thanks,
Cody
Thanks John, I will try to update my own profile to give a little more detail. You gotta be carefull about putting too much information out there. There are crazys out there, like the ones that put Chevy motors in Ford Trucks.
Larry and Mike have a Crown Vic front clip for sale on ebay as well with a link to this site. I found it last night browsing for parts. I started to get all hot and heavy about the swap myself then thought about it some more. I don't have the space to do the swap so I copied the page info for use later on. I can only imagine what it will take to make adapter brackets for the 460 to sit in there.
Yeah I found that clip on ebay yesterday. Believe me it is being watched intently. I checked into finding one locally and got prices ranging from $400 from a questionable source to a whopping 1500 (I didn't know they came gold plated, did you?). I thing the best deal that I am going to jump on as soon as I catch the wife looking the other way is I found a whole Vic Cop car less motor, trans, and front cap for $500.
I did out that it wasn't the same guys as the father son in the gallery.
Thanks again Mark. Howz the shoulder?

Reason: correcting a lil info

You got that right bud! You know, folks get upset seeing their phone number online when it along with their address can be in over a million printed public phone books.
I don't think it is crazy to put a chevy engine in a Ford truck, More like stupid.
I'm also very interested in this swap. As I have just purchased a clip. It just makes to much sense when you have or want a 4.6. With engine mounts solved and no power steering component conflicts. But I would also like to talk to 62 red truck
I bought mine this weekend too. The motor mount issue has me in quandry though. I want to put my 351 back in. Although putting a fuel infected motor in would be cool, I don't have the motor and don't have the knowledge to feel comfortable doing it.
There is another guy who did the swap, he has a few better closer pictures on another board. Here is the address. I cant put in an actual link so you'll have to cut and paste it into the browser.
He said that he is going to post a bunch more pictures and a little more 'how to' when he gets everything done.
Let me know if you find anymore info.
I also found some info on an Indy rear suspension that is only slightly more difficult than this one (it just requires a little welding). If you're interested let me know.
Yeah that is where I was going to point you. I found a donor this weekend. Unfortunatly it wasn't a Lincoln but a Thunderbird with discs so I figured good enough. I did some checking and as far as getting one (a lincoln) locally it pretty much wasn't happening, at least from the bigger name yards that I called not to say one couldn't be stumbled upon.
You can get on one of those parts finder websites and yards will email you if they have one. The only catch is finding one near enough so that freight doesn't eat you alive. I got fortunate enough to find both pieces (the cop car and the Thunderbird) within a 1/4 of a mile from each other.
I have exchanged emails with the guy from truckirs. Seems like a real cool guy. I thought that it was awesome that he will actually come buy and help with the setup (if you are a reasonable distance from him). He was actually gonna be making a pass through my town soon but it is well ahead of my building schedule.
