God day to all,
I used to post alot when I owned an Aerostar, Well thank goodness the wonderful A4ld tranny finnaly gave up. I a had nothing but postitive reviews fot all the info gleaned from y'all ford enthusiasts. I am purchasing a 91 F250 custom long bed super cab, Pre-power stroke 7.3L IH, I believe turbo diesel ( having only looked at it once), Fairley new tires all around and front brake drums smooth as a babbies A##, the brake booster is new and the pedal fells good, I am gonna guess e40d tranny, the owner said he just had overdrive rebuilt as it wasnt shifting up. Questions he couldnt answer were what is the stock Rear end ratio and size. Looks like he used it to pull a small fifth wheel once in a while now hes to old and wants to get some thing smaller. Body shows no rust and just a minor ding here and there. Fifth wheel stuff is still mounted but that should be easy enough to get rid of Any body have a little into put as to what else to look for, truck is in fair condition and hes asking 2500. I was plavving on offering 2000. Well wjat say you experts

I dont think ford put a turbo in their diesel trucks until 1994. How many miles? If you have an overdrive auto then its an E4OD. Earlier E4ODs werent a very good transmission, so if there are alot of miles, dont expect too many more without a rebuild. Ford perfected the E4 later on. Did you get the blue book value on the truck? It cant be much more than 2500 if not less.
