Hey Guys, I just wanted to say Thanks to everyone whos ever helped me mod my dads 2002 superhootie. I had plans for my 18th birthday, goin out and buying some sort of diesel. Either a 1994-97 or possible newer. Well i discused this over with my mom, and she said No. I got accepted to Lincoln Tech and she said i have to get something new and something that i cant have PMS on. So Shes making me Pay for a A.P.P Lease on a 07 F150. I mean its a really nice truck but its missing the powerstroke. She told me when im done with college i can buy a Smoker'! Il be back in 15 months with an Associates Degree and im really excited on My acceptance and il be going for Diesel Tech. So after this i will hopefully know a little bit more about diesels. Ive learned so much on this web site! Well again Thanks! Il still be on asking more questions LOL! Bye
Hell yeah man, going to a tech school for diesel, thats great. I had the wonderful opportunity to get enrolled at my local highschool tech center, it was a great experience. I kind of carry that on with me every day helping people out here on FTE. Sucks to hear about the truck, having sparkplugs and all. But im sure youll find a way to modify it, and make it better. I saw your post about the stacks on the OBS truck, and i hoped you were getting downgraded to a single-shotter. Oh well, it's still a ford.
You are in great shape buddy. Look forward to hearing from you at any time whether with dads PSD or whatever you get down the road. Enjoy. Good things come to those that wait. We all didn't start in a PSD. I've had several Ford gassers.
haha yea i know real trucks dont have spark plugs Yea i really would like a Older stroker but the downgrades just kept on coming. And i know you helped me out alot and thanks!
OK, maybe Kris started in a PSD, lucky devil. At any rate, every dime you spend on a gasser is a dime you won't have to get the diesel of your dreams. Mod all you want but keep that in mind. As a guy who is 40 something, (boys never grow up) I know how you feel about it, so get a plan together and make it happen. I predict a 6.0 or maybe a 6.4 in your future. Who knows, maybe even dads truck, that would be cool too.
Yea my dads gonna wait a while till he gets the 6.4. And hopefully after my two year lease is up on the 150 il be in the financial shape to purchase one myself. I wouldnt mind having a 7.3 I love these trucks. When i get my new 150 i already got a race set up lol. My dad told me today that his strokers gonna smoke it lol. I told him YEP i know lol. Its gonna be funny. Then i told him lets see who makes it further in the mud lol. I dont know bout your guys diesels but they sink pretty fast lol. I know from experience.
BTW, at 18 Mom cannot MAKE you do anything but of course we know how the real world works. Your family is the best asset you have starting out so work with that. It's tough out there alone. I'm just not a big fan of leasing anything. If they are paying for it, then go with it. There's a lot of money to be saved in other modes of used vehicles until you are ready but sometimes you gotta play by the rules. Kris is a lucky fella isn't he?
BTW: my son is not getting that mustang GT 5.0 convertible he thought he was going to get. He's going to get the wife's F150 crew cab. I could never sleep with him in that stang so I got rid of it.

Hey i worked my *** off, since i was about 9, and paid cash for my baby. And now my parents are realizing how much $$ im raking in, going straight to my PMS fund (the truck not the girl). They are making me invest in an IRA and "save up for a house." i know its best for me, and i know its what i should do, but i know my PMS doesn't like this. And just think i had $4500+ right about to come in to make the trip to BTS. Cant stop a badass!
O yea he is lol! Im acually paying the lease. My uncle had to give up his 6.0 and get a new 150. He told me about the deals. So i went and talked to a good friend of mine whos a salesman at a ford dealership. Heres the story. I walked in there and my mom already talked to him so he was figuring numbers for me. I was pretty shocked that my mom did that. But the trucks that he said that my mom told him that i wanted were plan jane. 4.6's XLT 4x4. Thats it. So rite away im like wow downgrading sucks. Well i remember looking in the parking lot at some 150s after messing around with the new superduties talegates lol. Well i found one that really caught my eye. Its a 2007 Red Ext. cab 6 Foot box. 4x4 FX4 Package. 5.4 Moon roof power sliding rear window Black interior 6 disk in dash, all the bells and whistles. So i was thinking. If im paying for it and i can afford it, Then why the heck am i gonna settle for something im gonna be really unhappy in. So i automatically told the salesman stop the numbers on the plain janes. So we did some more figuring and things really worked out for me. My dad is a ford employee, and my grandpa is a retired ford employee. So we got my grandpas A plan. 150's have excellent deals on em. So with everything figured in i brought a 38,000 pickup down to 29. I was impressed! Even tho il have a down payment and il more than likley loose some money. So i did more figuring by myself and i can afford that truck comfortably. My dad has leased Several trucks in his past. He loved it. New truck every two years, and if something went wrong he didnt have to pay for it. I loved it because of the new car smell lol im obsessed with that smell. So i figured that i should have a pretty desent job after college. So then i can start having the Toys! And my PMS will be in full swing!
He seems to make his own luck. He makes it by hammering out old-fashioned hard work! I know I couldn't keep up with him, (though in my 60's I shouldn't be expected to any more).
Kudos to his folks for teaching him what once was The American Way! It will serve him well to know "There's no free lunch"!

Man you're a stud. Can you come down and give my son a pep talk??
My hat is off to both The King and Kris. Go to school, get your chops down and you guys will be bosses some day. Like Tenn said, get a plan together and make it happen. Hard work and school pays off. I wish more young people had the same attitude as you guys. I am a production supervisor in a huge plant that builds oilwell drills and I have to deal with young people with no drive every day and they are tough to motivate. I can see clearly from the posts on this board by Kris and King that they are the opposite. Keep it up.

Buy the house first if you can, listen to the old farts on the board!
Lets see what cars i have had in four years, a 97 f-150(loved it!), an 99 crown vic(grandmas car), a 80 chevy pickup(POS), an 04 ranger(im too big for a ranger), and then my stroker. 4 fords and 1 chevy, and i will tell you this i hate chevy! I had the ranger and was payin 250$ a month on it. I had to duck down to see lights because i was too tall. So i sold that one back to fords when my mom was buyin a new truck. I only pay a bit more for the stroker, and it gets the same fuel mileage as the ranger did, more power than the ranger, and is much more accomidating then the ranger was. I had to wait to buy the stroker because at the time i could barely afford the ranger but now i can afford my stroker.
