Not so much diesel kleen, but anyone here who runs an additive fulltime here has not reported issues of those who run a partime additive or no additive at all. The ULSD all on its own will help keep the egr and turbo unison ring free of crud, the additive will assist in the complete burning of the fuel no matter if its LSD or ULSD.
