Tranny problem?
My truck ('98 f150 4x4, auto) makes a humming noise when shifting from 1st to 2nd. The noise is hit-and-miss. It is mainly when the truck is cold.
When I bought it used, the o/d light would flash after driving about 10 miles. I had a tranny shop pull the code and they said my speed sensor needed replaced. I replaced it and haven't experienced the flashing o/d light again until today. We took a trip up into the mountains and I forgot to click o/d off when we started. After about a mile of climbing, it started flashing again. Shifting seems normal.
Anyone have any insight? I will go get the code pulled next week.
