Deep Cycle Battery/back up camera Question

I bought a used pickup camper last fall, and found that the internal battery was toast.

Can I use a Wallyworld Marine Battery, about 50 bucks or do I need to get a purpose built Deep Cycle Battery.

While at Wally I saw a wireless camera for slightly 100 bucks, do you think it will have enough range for long bed crew with a camper on the top?

Thanks folks.

Sam

Got through to customer support, camera can work up to two hours continously and 19 feet distance. Thanks for the comeback firesoutmatt, looks like a run to Wally.

Batteries depend on what kind you are looking at.

A deep cycle is designed to be fully charged and discharged almost to zero. A regular car or truck battery doesn't like that kind of treatment over the long haul.

A Marine battery is not enough description to say. Marine battery just means it is built to survive the pounding that you get in a boat.

There are regular starting marine batteries and those designed to be deep discharged.

The Marine battery whatever type it is will work better than a car battery. If it is also Deep Discharge so much the better.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson

I'll check to see if it says deep discharge, this is the camper battery so it might see a fair amount of discharge during a weekend.

Thank you sir.

Just get the deep cycle type. The last time I bought one, Autozone had the best price.
