Body Swap
I have just acquired a 1977 Extended cab longbed. I would prefer a shortbed. My question is, if anyone knows, would the wheelbase of a regular cab longbed match that of an extended cab shortbed? Reason being, if these two wheelbases match, I'd like to puchase a longbed frame and fit it with my cab and a shortbed. Also, I wonder what the possibility of a more modern (92-95 for example) sharing the same wheelbase with and older pick-up. I'd like to modernize this truck if possible and I know where a modern regular cab longbed is that has been rolled with no apparent damage to the undercarriage.

You will need to find a frame to match Sc as for newer anything is possible but I don't know about cab length compared to newer truck. just cut the frame . I've done two 1 made longer to install super cab and made a F350 reg cab into short bed . Good luck on search

The WB of a SB is 117"
the Reg cab with long bed is 133"

Yeah you would have to find the right frame to match or cut your frame to match In my opinion i would keep the longbed easier to find good beds than short bed short beds are rare and all of my times i have seen supercab trucks i have only seen one supercab shortbox in these years pretty hard to find here anyway i know its probably a bugger to park with long box and shortbox looks better
