1996 seat conversion
I have a 1996 f-150 with the bench seat. I would like to go to either capt. chairs or something with a console. there is a local GM salvage yard that sells seats for 30-50 dollars a piece. how difficult would it be to retro GM to ford? And yes I know it's blasphemy to even think of such a thing but could it be done Easily? could I use ford brackets or would I need GM brackets and drill new holes??

You might look at a Lariat or Eddie Bauer truck. The higher end bench seat has a fold down console (with cup holders!) in the middle that works pretty well. It also gives you the option of the third passenger if you ever need it.

You can fit any thing in with work . Since you have a bench the easiest way would be to get F150 /bronco bases and modify what ever seats you get to if them . I understand I can get sweet seats for anything other than ford for change. As soon as Ford is added you looking at $300 for 2 buckets . Some newer explore and SD bucket seats will bolt on to the factory ford slides . But they are expensive.
