engine swap 351w or 460
ok i need some advice i have a f350 sc with a tired 351m or 400 4sp 4x4 transfer case i'm not sure what it is i was wondering what everyone thinks replacing it with a 351w efi mtr or a 460 has anyone done the 351w swap with efi the truck will see mostly hwy miles some light towing and ocassionly mud

Check with the engine swap forum. Unless you are very experienced with Ford automotive electrical systems an EFI 351W is probably not a wise choice. The 460 will take some work also since it was not a factory option some feel due to drivetrain capacity/breakage. Drop in a replacement 400.

Nothing wrong with a nicely built 400, you can even add aluminum heads and TBI to it if you want. I have the same truck and went with a 460 since I got the finnished short block for only $600.00.
A new 400 would be an easy bolt in and cost much less.

ok thanks who make aluminum heads for the 400 ? is there anyway to raise the compression on this motor i've search and haven't been able to find anything more than he stock pistions and thanks againi'll probably stay with the 400 then any suggestions for the cam intake and headers whats a good combo
