ok guys i need some help. i have a 79 4wd f-250 with a 351and a 4 spd has a steel flat bed with just about 2 in of lift from added leaf springs. im runnin 235 85 r 16 tires on steel wheels my question is will a 6000 lb electric mile marker winch be enough casue i found one for $175

Your 79 F-250 is a very heavy truck. I'd say your'e probably pushing over 6000lbs now. Your'e going to need at least a 9000lb rated winch. A good rule of thumb is to get one that's rated 1.5 times your truck's weight.
At that price, I'd still get the 6000lb winch, because you can always use it on a trailer to winch up a dead vehicle, or if you get a smaller truck like a Bronco II or a Ranger, you could always use it for them.

ok thanks for the info i do have a 99 ranger and i never thought of gettin it for that. im actually lookin for a pto winch but they are very few and far between in wva
