and the reason Stewart couldn't really be upset was because he was loose from hitting the apron when kurt busch hit him,and had to get out of the gas to correct. Busch had less than half a second to react to Stewart slowing down, not enough time at 185 miles an hour. I am not a busch fan,but he was running a strong race with a car possibly good enough to win also and I am sure he didn't hit Stewart on purpose.

At least in the past, there were a lot of lead changes, it seemed that it was harder to pass than ever even with drafting help. It would be more interesting if they removed the restricter plates and cut back on the amount of spoiler. Then they would have power to pass and really race, but if they get going to fast, the cars would start looseing traction. The idea was floated in the past, but nothing ever came of it. I guess they figure some drivers would wreck rather than lower thier speed to where the car handled well.

I think there would have been more lead changes it's just some drivers would rather "ride" around for the first 3/4 of the race instead of tearing up their cars. In the last 30 laps was when all the passing was taking place for 2 reasons, the temps were cooler and there was more grip, and drivers knew it was time to giddy up and go!

Rusty Wallace took the blue deuce out on Talledega a few years ago with no restrictor plate and topped 224 mph I believe. He even stated that it would be way too dangerous to race at these speeds. Never mind if the car started spinning who know where it would land once it got airborne! Roush designed the roof flaps to a max speed of 200 mph, anything after that the driver better have a parchute handy.

Someone ended up on thier roof sunday, forgot who it was, the car was also on fire, so it take them long to get out. It's along race, really no reason to fight for the lead, cars go faster in single file, it's sorta boring to watch unless your a diehard fan, A lot of people watch for the wrecks. Every since Dale got killed, the wrecks make me nerves, I don't want to see anyone hurt. Your right, the final laps were exciting, makes it all woth wild, poor Mark. Could say the same about Tony as well, he had a fast car and has never won the big race, but with the good Lords will, he'll have many more chances to try, this is about it for Mark.
