Red face starting problem

. Hello again
A new problem has been plaguing me for a couple of weeks. When I first try to start my F 350, a 2000 dually it turns very slowley like theres not any battery life . I put a multi meter on it this AM shows 12.94. disconected. Cranking cold each battery drops to 10.58. Turn the ignition off for about 30 seconds and crank again it turns over like a brand new one and starts right up, what the heck is up?????

Thanks again

10.5vdc in the minimum voltage needed so you are right on the line. Are the glow plugs working?

It could be a battery with a dead short. I had a 79 bronco with a dead short. It would start fine for a couple of days. I could shut it off and try to start it shortly after (go into beer store etc.) and totally dead. Get a boost and good for another couple days. This went on for awhile as i tried to diagnose the prob. New battery fixed everything. So just because they show good doesn't mean squat. I would say your gp are working fine just a battery prob i think. I'm sure you'll get more post. Hope you get 'er fixed! Lancer
