engine miss & sputtering etc
okay, Since I already accidently hijacked another thread by accident, Maybe I can get some help. My problem is an 87 f150 4.9l 4x4. Problem started out with the battery going dead after sitting for a short time. I have since fixed this. well the very next problem was that my fuel pumps were running all the time. That problem somehow stopped. But now i have a very hard miss while holding the throttle down. It is almost like the motor is being starved for fuel. Any help ?

Have you checked your fuel pressure? I don't know for sure what it should be at various times, but if it indeed is starving for fuel that would be a good place to start. You might also have a bad plug wire some place. They can sometimes cause a miss uner acceleration too. Otherwise the usual culprits come to mind. Plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter etc.
