you trans is controlled with a pcm on the truck whitch gets it's info from various sensors on the vehicle and you will need a diognostic tool to read them-not just a code reader. One of the sensors may be giving false info tha the pcm. can't use but if the info isn't "out of range" it may not set a code. Did you make sure all the connectors are fully seated? does the tach work? does the speedo work?is it completly full of fluid? I think it holds about 12-13 qts.

Sounds like your in Limp mode a safety net for the trans........don't drive it.

Did your tach and speedo work flawlessly.........

Did they reset the FIPL/TPS.......

Mercon fluid capacities E4OD

4x2.....14 liters/15.7qts
4x4.....15.3 liters/16.2 quarts

Add .3 liter/quart for extra cooler.

I can't seem to be able to edit my posts sorry for 3 in a row........

Check your fluid level on level ground..... there are 2 check areas on the stick one for cold and cross hatched area for hot........ too much fluid will foam up and cause erratic pressure control problems....... and probably limp mode. It may even be overflowing out the vent on top of the trans.........

no leaks anywhere ,tach and speedo worked fine . i guess when they reset everything it will work fine? i hope. i dont no what the FIPL/TPS is though.? i dont no anything about the e4od . i drag race on the weekends and pull a enclosed trailer around. i was wanting to put a manual trans in it until i was told i would have to change the wire harnes in the truck is that true ? i can pick everything up for it for 1350.00 (except wire harnes) pedal, flywheel, clutch ,preasure plate, driveshaft, slave cylender,5 speed manual, GREAT DEAL i think but not if wire harnes needs changed..

Not much needs changed on the wiring harness.
The manual tranny has a clutch mounted start interlock under the dash, the plug is there on your truck.
The E4OD has a start interlock on the transmission shifter.

Moving the jumper from one location to the other should be about it for wiring changes required.

if i do all that will the engine run properly?i was told that it would not. correct me if i am wrong but e4od computer sensor would only make the automatic shift, has nothen to do with manual trans.i would sooner have manual than auto. for pulling purposes only sounds pretty easy now. but i dont no anything about this except what i read from here. this forum is just awsome
