The only time I have ever tried the Plat +4s was in my wifes 97 F150 with a 4.6, decided to change plugs at 68,000 miles fuel economy went from 16-18 to 12-14 changed back to autolite platimums mileage went up to 17-19 immediatly. Won't ever have those POS plugs in any vehicle I own ever again. They are a gimmick designed to lighten your wallet as quickly as possible and with this design in mind they do a great job, but still snake oil type of thing.

There is good reason, that a heavy electrode spark plug, isn't the best choice for our waste spark system!!!!

Your experience with Bosch plugs in a Ford product is definately an exception. They usually don't run very well at all.........Maybe you should try Motorcraft plugs to see what a Ford really runs like?

Hahaha... very funny. LOL!! Seriously though, I'm not the only person I know running Bosch in a Ford, nobody's had anything really negative to say. I'm up to the challenge though, I haven't run a motorcraft in this truck since 96-97. Next time I do a plug change I'll I'll try em out see if I notice a difference or improvement. Could be a while though, seeing I changed them last week and they have only 187KM.

On a side note, my dad still has his original Motorcraft plugs in his 98 F150 STX with 217000 KM. His truck still runs smooth and solid. I'm not saying this is right and I have told him more than once that this isn't smart. He knows better being an ex mechanic. Now I'm the mechanic and do all the work on his vehicles, I also told him I would do everything except his plugs..LOL! I'm curious to see what they look like though.

Just changed the plugs in the 01 Focus yesterday and what a BIG differance!!I was low on cash and put copper core plugs in it 14000 miles ago and the gas mileage started to go south with about 10000 miles on them and for the last week it had a dead skip at idol.I put in the double platinum autolite plugs, miss was going and no more losing speed going up hill. I will have to let you know on the gas mileage later. The plugs I took out look good and no increase in the gap just a light brown color on the insulators. I hope to get at least 60000 on the new ones.I have 63500 miles on the double platinum plugs in the 96 Ranger and it still runs great with an average 20 MPG on the road.
