Nothing holding cap on?

I recently bought a 1980 Bronco as a winter vehicle and just realized today that I am missing all of the bolts that hold the cap onto the body of the truck. Does anyone know what size bolt I would need to get from the hardware store to secure the cap?

The nuts are those stupid spring steel clips that slide into the holes in the bed rails. So, if the bolts have been out and the top not in place to hold the spring nuts, chances are, they have either bounced out of the rails or down inside them. The bolts are 3/8-20 I believe. The ones in my '92 have the tamper-proof Torx head on them...er... HAD those kind. I replaced them, once I got the old ones out, with regular grade 8 hex heads. The ones in the rails are about 1.5-2" long and the ones across the roofline are at least 3" long.

You can now buy Tamper-Torx bits at Lowe's & other hardware stores, but if you don't want the hassle, use a small punch & hammer to break out the tiny pin in the middle of Tamper-Torx heads - this allows the use of NORMAL Torx drivers.

Lowe's also sells the U-nuts...
