I have a class C motor home, 2000 V10 with 30K miles. Been sitting for a few weeks..fully charged battery. Tried to start and starter spun rapidly with no resistance (i.e...like no compression). Was OK when put away. Any ideas on what this could be ?? Timing belt doesn't seem likely in this new an engine ??
Bendix not engaging ?
What else could cause this. It just doesn't have that cranking, trying to start feel. No cough or sputter
Any thoughts are appreciated
Do you mean that the engine is turning and just not firing?
If so, try just turning the ignition to full on position and leave it for fifteen seconds before cranking. It may be that you fuel pressure bled down while sitting.

Went back today where RV is stored with someone and yes the engine is turning. That eliminates starter as problem. Thanks for that idea. I will try it tomorrow. If that doesn't work it may be pump or some sensor or ??
Problem is local Ford dealer won't work on a small class C RV even though it is basically a 450
How much pressure have you got at the fuel rail - or do you have a good amount of pressure at the fuel rail? Are you sure that the engine is getting fuel? Can you hear the fuel pump running when you turn on the key? You can check the pressure at the Schroeder valve that located on the fuel rail. It looks like a tire valve.
Also, try depressing the accel pedal about halfway to make sure the IAC valve isn't bad.
