Interest Rates

I was told today by a local dealeer:
7.9% for 72 mos
5.9 60 mos
4.9 48 mos
3.9 36 mos.
I think I'll try to hold out till summer and maybe something better comes out?

In Canada they are 2.9 for 60, 1.9 for 48, an 0.9 for 36. Pretty good actually!

FORD offered me the 5.9 for 60 months, but only with 20% down. Their rates suck in my opinion. I've never been asked to put that kind of money down on a vehicle. I went through my Credit Union and got 4.5 for 60 months, Nothing down+ TTL...

FORD also gave me a little grief about cashing out my EPS warranty even with me buying a new one.

I joined a Credit Union years ago and can just get on the phone and get pre-approved. It took a total of 45 minutes the other day from the first call till they faxed over the final paperwork. The fastest I've ever bought a vehicle. FORD took 3 hours to "Propose".

Wow, that is impressive ... I was thinking of leasing mine when it comes in but with low interest rates like that I will definitely compare the two purchase options. Thanks for posting the info.

A lease is a good idea if you can wrap your brain around the idea of Never owning the vehicle. You are just paying a monthly "Service Fee" to use a vehicle. For business use it's sometimes worth the time.

One thing I never understood about leasing a truck for work is that they wouldn't allow for over 15K miles annually. I know most of our drivers put minimum of 20K a year on their vehicles. Seems like there would be a higher mileage yield for the Diesels.

I do know they beat the hell out of you on body damage. If you are a Velvet-*** like me this is never a problem because all of my driving is hwy. Some of these guys that are in construction or pipeline work hammer their trucks.

Our main "Parts" truck put 41K in just 7 months last year.

I posted this a while back, but what about F450 compared to the 350 and 250. The last 06 F450 were considered "commercial" and had higher interest rates. We bought a conversion 06 F350 (basically a lariet) and are paying around 8% for 60 months. If we were to get a F350 it would have been 0% for 60, or like 1.9% for 72. Only our bank or Ford Credit would do the commercial and ford credit was cheaper. The other lenders at this dealership wouldn't do a 450. Just curious. Maybe they changed the classification for the 450 with the new trim packages. Levi

Everybody needs to run out and buy this 6.4 Powerstroke to pay for the CEO bonus just announced today! And when that great emission controlled boat anchor breaks down just stop and think about all the R&D Ford and Navistar saved in time and money to go and and pay the CEO big bucks that has no clue
what a tool box looks like.

Some people just prefer the emission controlled boat anchor with 650 ft.lb. torque over the emission controlled boat anchor with 457 ft.lb. of torque.
