focus auto door lock
Help! Wife is grinding me to solve failure of electonic locking system on her '02 Ford Focus. Have 1500 miles left on warranty and Ford dealer blowing me off. Seems simple. I can hear a clicking under right side dash but nothing happens. Ford "looked" at it and said it could be a dead short. Seems if it is under warranty and does not work they should look till it is found. Right? (includes trunk release so it is all on the same circuit)

Look around on the internet or maybe go up and ask in the general discussion forum on this site about a customer complaint number for Ford. Armed with that, go back to the dealer and give them another chance. If they give you some more resistance, whip out your plan to call Ford, and see what happens.

Go back to the dealer and start with the service manager
if no immediate cure the ask him for the ford service rep name and number
when he then decides to be nice MAKE him give name and number
bet you get better service
