front rotor dragging
So far this mod is a two-messager. Generally I can tell how well my upgrades are going by how many requests for help I post.
I just installed new powerslot rotors and hawk pads on the front of my yr 2000 X. Went out and did the bedding in procedure. Toward the end they say to do two moderately hard stops from 60 to 10mph. Did that and was pulling to the left badly.
Went home, and noticed that I smell something really hot coming from the passenger side front rotor. It's *really* hot, smells some, but not smoking.
I pulled off both front wheels to compare. The passenger side appears a little scorched. Besides maybe having to buy a new passenger side rotor, what do you think could cause a rotor to drag like that?
I carefully compared both sides and my install looks the same. The only thing different is that one of the little springs that stick into the pad backing plate was dislodged on my passenger side. Surely that spring missing couldn't result in that kind of heat, could it? I appreciate any help!!

Anybody else have any other advice? I'm thinking about pulling the new rotor off the hot side and putting my old stock rotor back on to see if that gets hot. If it does, maybe I damaged the caliper. Crap.
